The Consortium of National Law Universities has successfully conducted the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 on Sunday, December 7. As per the official announcement, the Consortium released the provisional answer key on December 10 at 5 PM. Students can raise objections online until 5 PM on December 12. A fee of INR 500 per objection will be charged. If the objection is found valid, the fees will be refunded to the same account.
This year saw a significant rise in participation as 92,344 candidates applied for the exam, marking a 17 per cent increase from the previous year. The national-level entrance test was held across 156 centres in 25 states, 93 cities and 4 Union Territories. Out of the total applicants, 75,009 candidates registered for the undergraduate programme, while 17,335 applied for the postgraduate programme. Attendance was high, with 96.83 per cent of UG candidates and 92.45 per cent of PG candidates appearing for the paper. CLAT remains one of India’s most competitive exams for admission into top National Law Universities (NLUs).

The objection portal is active from December 10 (5 PM) to December 12 (5 PM). After this window closes, objections cannot be submitted further.
