Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is a law university located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The university was established in 2003 under the Gujarat National Law University Act and started its academic operations in 2004. The university is approved by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC), and it has been accredited with grade βAβ by NAAC. GNLU is a member of different organisations that include the International Association of Law Schools (IALS), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI). The campus has spread across 50 acres of land, which is known for its eco-friendly environment and facilities.

GNLU offers admission to multiple law programs at various Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The application process for CLAT will begin on 20 July 2025 and will continue until 23 October 2025. To apply, students have to fill out the online CLAT form and pay the application fee of INR 4,000 (INR 3,500 for SC/ST/PwD/BPL candidates).
For undergraduate programs like B.A. LL.B (Hons.), B.Com. LL.B (Hons.), and other integrated law degrees, candidates must have passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) from a recognised board. For postgraduate admission to the LL.M program, applicants should have completed an LL.B degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). To get admission in GNLU, students must register for CLAT, choose GNLU, upload documents, and pay fees. After the declaration of results, attend counselling and seats are allotted based on rank and category.

To apply for admission at Gujarat National Law University, students need to meet some basic eligibility conditions. These include minimum marks in their previous exams and valid CLAT scores. The main eligibility requirements are listed below:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or completed a graduation degree in law (LL.B), depending on the program applied for.
Minimum 45% marks are required for General, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO, and OCI categories (40% for SC and ST students) for the Undergraduate program.
The postgraduate program requires students to have a minimum of 50% marks in LLB (45% for reserved category students) from a recognised university.
For PhD programs, a Masterβs degree is required with 55% aggregated marks (50% for reserved category applicants) with an entrance exam including UGC NET/JRF/SLET/M.Phil.
Students who are in the final year of the exam are also eligible to apply for admission.
Admission is based on CLAT or CLAT PG scores, as applicable.
There is no upper age limit for applying.
