IIM Bodh Gaya Overview
The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIM Bodh Gaya) was established as the 15th IIM in India, under the guidance of IIM Calcutta. It was established in 2015. The motto of the institute is “सब्बे भद्राणि पस्सन्तु”, which is written in the language of Pali. This verse is taken from the ‘Dhammavani Sangrah’ by Shri S.N. Goyanka. The motto translates to ‘Let all be witnesses of all good happenings’.
The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya is being established in a 119 acre campus, which is currently under construction. Till then it is operating from the distance education building of Magadh University. It has state-of-the-art classrooms, separate hostels for boys and girls, sports facilities, a knowledge database, and a library.
The Institute has been ranked at 31 in the NIRF ranking of 2025 and 33 in the NIRF ranking of 2024. The institute is accredited by AACSB and is a member of the Business Education Alliance. The ranking of IIRF is 32. The institute has also collaborated with various international universities in South Korea, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Venezuela and France to give its students international exposure and cultural diversity.
The flagship course of the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya is the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. It also offers an MBA-DBM in (Digital Business Management), MBA-HHM (Hospital and Healthcare Management), and a 2-year Executive Master of Business Administration (E-MBA), which takes place online and is made for working professionals.
IIM Bodh Gaya placements for the batch of 2023-25 have been 100%. The highest package was INR 24 LPA (2022-24), the average package was 13.7 LPA and the median package was 13 LPA. Some of the most prominent recruiters in IIM Bodh Gaya are HSBC, EY, SBI, Deloitte, Reliance, Adani, Amul, Godrej etc.

Who Can Apply to IIM Bodh Gaya
Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya offers different programmes and each programme has a different kind of targeted students who can apply for them. Given below is all the information about the programmes and who can apply to them:
For MBA /MBA - DBM /MBA - HHM
students who have completed their bachelor's with 50% marks and are indian citizens
45% marks for students from SC/ST/PwD categories
For E-MBA (Executive MBA)
A candidate should have a graduate degree with 50% of marks
The candidate should also have 3 or more years of work/managerial/entrepreneurial experience after their graduation.
For PhD Programme in Management
Master's degree with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
A professional degree like CA/ICWA/CS with a minimum of 60% marks
Integrated master's programme of 5 years with at least 60% marks after qualifying class 12th.
A 4 year bachelor's degree with at least 65% marks
Students in the final year of their degree programme are also eligible provided they submit all the required documents within the deadline.
The candidate should not be more than 40 years of age.
IPM (Integrated programme in management)
Students must have passed class 12th in any stream with 65% of marks minimum (55% for SC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates).
Students should have passed their class 10th with 65% marks not before the year of 2022.
Entrance Exams for IIM Bodh Gaya Admissions 2026
Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya accepts different entrance exams for different programmes. Below is the list of all the exams that are accepted for admission to various different programmes.
1. CAT (Common Admission Test)- This exam is the most common exam taken for IIMs. It is considered for MBA, MBA -DBM and MBA-HHM in IIM Bodh Gaya.
2. JIPMAT (Joint Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test)- JIPMAT is taken for admission in IPMAT at IIM Bodh Gaya. This test is conducted by NTA.
3. IIMBG Test- The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya takes its own entrance exam for admission in its MBA Executive Programme. The students who qualify for this test will be eligible for the Ex-MBA.
4. CAT / GMAT / GRE / GATE / JRF / IIM Bangalore RAT- These are the exams that will be accepted for admission to the PhD in IIM Bodh Gaya. Students with a valid score on any one of these exams are eligible to apply.
IIM Bodh Gaya MBA/ MBA-DBM/ MBA-HHM Cutoff
The students who want to pursue the programme of MBA/MBA-DBM(Digital Business Management/MBA-HHM( Hospital and Healthcare Management) will have to meet the cut-off of the programmes according to their categories. IIM Bodh Gaya Selection Criteria 2026
The selection criteria for each of the courses in the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya are different from each other. Here is the selection criteria for all the courses.
For MBA, MBA- DBM & MBA- HHM-
The student should have qualified CAT entrance examination
The students who meet the cutoff of CAT will be invited for the personal interview
The final selection will be based on the score in CAT, PI and the academic profile.
For IPM (Integrated Programme in Management):
The student will have to give JIPMAT 2026, which is conducted by NTA.
The students clearing the sectional and overall cutoff will be eligible for the merit list.
The shortlisted students will have to submit an expression of interest on which basis students will be selected for admission in IIM Bodh Gaya.
On final selection in the programme of IPM students will pay the acceptance fee with the submission of an expression of interest.
For Ex- MBA (Executive MBA)-
The candidates who qualify the entrance test of IIM Bodh Gaya will be called for a personal interview
The final selection will be on the basis of the score of entrance marks, performance in a personal interview and the profile and work experience of the candidate.
The final merit list will be made and students will be notified about their admissions.
For PhD-
Candidates should have a valid score of CAT/GATE/GRE/GMAT/JRF (UGC/CSIR)/ IIM Bangalore RAT
The candidates shortlisted on their score on the entrance examination and profile will be called for the interview round at the institute.
The students qualifying for the first round of the PI will be called for the next round.
The candidate receiving the admission offer will have to pay INR 30,000 as an acceptance fee which will later be adjusted as caution money.
