The XLRI Jamshedpur admission process and XLRI Gurgaon admission process is entrance-based and follows its internal selection criteria, aligned with national and international academic standards. For the flagship PGDBM and PGDHRM programs, candidates must have a recognised bachelor’s degree (minimum three years duration) in any discipline. Final-year students may also apply. Admission is done through the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), conducted by XLRI - Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, or through GMAT for NRI and foreign candidates.
For the PGDM (GM), applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of work experience. Selection is based on XAT, GMAT, or GRE scores, followed by a personal interview. Similarly, for the Executive PGDM (Weekend) program, candidates need a graduate degree and a minimum of two years of work experience.
Application forms are available online on the XLRI website. For Indian candidates applying through XAT, the fee is INR 2,200 plus INR 200 per program. For those applying through GMAT/GRE, the application fee is INR 2,500, while for international candidates it is INR 5,000.

XLRI Jamshedpur offers Postgraduate, Executive, and Fellowship-level management programs with well-defined eligibility criteria. For the PGDBM (Business Management) and PGDHRM (Human Resource Management) programs, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree (minimum three years) in any discipline. Candidates appearing in their final year of graduation are also eligible. Admission is done through the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) conducted by XLRI, or via GMAT for foreign and NRI candidates.
For the General Management Program (GMP), a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least five years of full-time work experience as of March 31, 2025, is required. The Executive PGDM (Weekend Program) requires a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of work experience or have an MBA/PGDM or equivalent or GMP/PGPX or 1-year full-time residential program in Managment with at least 60% marks. Final selection for all programs is based on entrance test scores and performance in the personal interview.
For the Fellowship Program in Management (FPM), candidates need a postgraduate degree (MBA/Master’s) with at least 55% marks, a four-year professional degree like B.Tech with 6.5 CGPA, or professional qualifications like CA/ICWA/CS with at least 55% marks. Those with UGC-JRF are exempted from taking XAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC-NET.
