IIM Shillong was established in 2007. It was set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development with help from the Meghalaya government. The institute has completed 18 years of success and growth. IIM Shillong offers a two-year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP), a one-year Post Graduate Program for Executives (PGPEx) for professionals and an Integrated Program in Management (IPM) for students after Class 12. Who Can Apply to IIM Shillong

For Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP)
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For SC, ST, and differently abled candidates, the minimum required marks are 45%.
Domestic students must clear the CAT exam and then attend a personal interview.
Overseas candidates need to pass the GMAT exam followed by a personal interview.
For Post Graduate Program in Management for Executives (PGPEx)
Applicants need to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with the 50% marks.
CAT score: minimum 50 percentile (overall) or
GMAT score: minimum 500 score (overall).
Students are then called for group discussions and/or personal interviews.
IIM Shillong accepts CAT scores from the last 2 years or GMAT scores from the last 5 years.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of full-time work experience after completing their graduation. Those who have worked for at least 1 year outside India can get a relaxation of up to 1 year in the required experience.
For Post-Graduate Program in Management for Working Executives (PGPWE)
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any stream with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade. For SC, ST, and differently abled candidates, a minimum of 45% marks is required.
Candidates must clear the entrance exams, such as the CAT or GMAT. Candidates who have not obtained valid marks will have to appear for the WE-MAT exam.
The shortlisted candidate will be called for the interview round.

For PhD (Doctoral Program- Residential)

Educational Qualification:
Candidates should have at least 60% marks in both their class 10 (SSC) and class 12 (HSC) exams. For SC, ST, and differently abled candidates, the minimum requirement is 55%.
Students who are going to complete their class 12/HSC or equivalent soon can apply too.
Students should have math or applied math as a subject in their 11 and 12 classes.
Candidates need to appear for the IPMAT exam conducted by IIM Indore. Their IPMAT scores will be used by IIM Shillong to select students for the interview round.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, or differently abled categories will get a 5-year age relaxation.

IIM Shillong Placement Overview
The Placement Committee at IIM Shillong Campus is proud to announce the successful completion of the IIM Shillong Placements. The placements for the PGP Class of 2023–25 have been completed. This success shows the institute’s strong reputation among business schools. It also proves that top companies from many industries prefer hiring from the IIM Shillong Campus.
The placement results at IIM Shillong were really good this year. The highest salary offered was INR 71.50 LPA. On average, students got INR 26.44 LPA and the median salary was INR 25 LPA. This shows that students at IIM Shillong are getting great job offers from top companies.
The top students at IIM Shillong Campus did really well in placements. The top 10% of students got an average salary of INR 41.13 LPA, while the top 20% got around INR 38.53 LPA. Even the top 50% of students earned about INR 32.23 LPA. This shows that most students at IIM Shillong are getting great job offers, and the institute provides good opportunities for everyone.
IIM Shillong Scholarship
Scholars who join the residential Doctoral Program get complete financial support. This support helps them with study expenses and basic living costs. The amount and rules for this financial help may change as per the institute’s guidelines.
All selected scholars get a fellowship and a contingency allowance for up to four years. During the first and second years, they receive INR 35,000 per month. In the third and fourth years the amount increases to INR 40,000 per month after clearing the Comprehensive Exam and submitting their Thesis Research Proposal. Scholars must study full-time and assist in teaching and research work.
Apart from this, additional financial support of INR 2,30,000 is also given. This includes a one-time Computer Grant of INR 80,000 which can be claimed in the second year after completing the first year successfully. From the second year onwards scholars can also get up to INR 1,00,000 (INR 50,000 each for the second and third year) to attend seminars, workshops, or conferences, both in India and abroad.
Every scholar gets an extra financial help of INR 50,000 for the entire course. The institute will share the list of items that can be covered under this grant.

It possesses a wide range of online publications including more than 40 databases, 17,000 e-journals, 7,500 business magazines and 2.5 lakh e-books. It also offers access to such special collections as Harvard Business Review and World Bank reports.
IT infrastructure - IIM Shillong Campus has modern and advanced IT facilities. The campus buildings are connected through high-speed optical fibres. Both wired and wireless networks are available with strong security. This helps students and teachers stay connected anytime and anywhere.
Residential - The IIM Shillong campus is modern, peaceful, and full of life. There are four hostel blocks with dining, sports, and recreation facilities. The 120-acre green campus at Umsawli is surrounded by pine trees and a lake. Beautiful walking trails make it a calm and inspiring place to study and grow. Health and sports - IIM Shillong has excellent sports facilities with a natural environment. Outdoor games such as cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, hockey, throwball and badminton can be played by students. Such indoor games are table tennis, pool, foosball, carrom, and chess. It also has an open gym to fitness enthusiasts. It is soon to be enhanced by adding a cycling track to those who like riding.

Institute Guest House - The IIM Shillong Guest House is a non-profit place for guests and visitors. It offers a stay for people attending meetings, workshops, and conferences. The guest house is just 5 minutes away from the Umsawli campus at Lumjingsuk Homes, Mawdiangdiang. It has 16 rooms with balconies and a rooftop deck.
