IIT Roorkee Admission & Eligibility Criteria 2026
Admission to IIT Roorkee courses is based on candidates' performance in a national-level entrance examination. Each program at IIT Roorkee has specific basic eligibility criteria. IIT Roorkee offers admission in courses such as B.Tech, B.Des, B.Plan, M.Tech, M.Des, MBA, and M.Sc.

IIT Roorkee Scholarships 2025
IIT Roorkee provides scholarships on a Means and Merit basis. Candidates who perform well and belong to the reserved categories or are financially weak are entitled to these scholarships. Some of the scholarships are: Merit cum Means, SC/ ST Scholarships, Institute Assistanceship, External Scholarships and James Thomason Scholarship. Selection is generally merit-based and sometimes includes a need-based component.
James Thomason Scholarship: Granted to JEE Advanced top 250 AIR holders, who are admitted to IIT Roorkee. Financial assistance of INR 25,000 per year is provided to the awardee throughout the program. Candidates are expected to maintain 8 and above CGPA at the end of the academic year to enjoy this scholarship.
Tuition Fee Waiver and Free Messing Scholarship: Granted to UG candidates of reserved categories, candidates granted this scholarship are exempted from paying tuition fee, hostel and mess charges and get a monthly allowance of INR 250 per month in case of family income less than INR 5 LPA.
