National Law University New Delhi (NLU Delhi) is the top law university in India. It was founded in 2008 and is located in Dwarka, New Delhi. National Law University New Delhi provides admission through entrance exams. Students who meet the eligibility can apply online on the university’s website. The university offers law courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels. It also has PG diplomas and online courses for candidates. Admission to most courses is based on entrance exams and counselling. For some programs, NLU Delhi conducts AILET exam (All India Law Entrance Test).
Applicants must pay an admission fee of INR 10,000 to apply for the courses. After that, they need to pay the course fee. The annual tuition fee for the BA LLB (Hons.) and LLM programs is INR 1,56,000 each. For the PhD program, the annual fee is INR 50,000 for full-time students and INR 1,50,000 for part-time students.

NLU Delhi provides diverse programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels. It also offers postgraduate diploma and online courses for the 2025 academic session. These courses have their own eligibility requirements which is given below.
BA LLB (Hons) - Candidates must have passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks and must also qualify the AILET examination.
LLM - Applicants should have completed an LLB or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks and must appear for the AILET exam.
Postgraduate Diploma - Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree (graduation) in any discipline from a recognized university.
PhD - Applicants need to complete a master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. Candidates also qualify the UGC-JRF or AILET entrance exam.
Note: In some cases, admission is followed by counselling and interviews.
NLU Delhi has a good placement record every year. Many students get jobs in top law firms and companies. In 2023 most UG and PG students were placed. UG students got a median salary of about INR 14 LPA and PG students got around INR 12 LPA. Some students chose to study further. The Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC) handles all placement work from inviting companies to managing interviews and final results.
Every year many well-known recruiters visit the campus to hire students. These include companies and law firms like Reliance, ONGC, JSA, Linklaters, and Herbert Smith Freehills. The placement process at NLU Delhi is well managed. Students get full support at every step. Each year, more students get placed. The salary packages are also increasing every year.
NLU Delhi offers many scholarships each year. These help students from all backgrounds study without any financial stress. The scholarships are given by the Government of India, state governments, and private organizations. Some are for SC, ST, OBC, and minority students. Other scholarships are based on merit or need. Many cover tuition fees, books, and living costs.
