IIT Bombay Admission 2026
IIT Bombay offers UG, PG, PhD, and Dual Degree programs such as BTech, BDes, MTech, MDes, MSc, MCA, BTech+MTech and more, in Science, Aerospace Engineering, IIT Bombay CSE, CE, EE, ME, Humanities, Management, Mathematics, Social Sciences, etc. The admission takes place based on merit and national-level entrance examination scores such as JEE Advanced, GATE, JAM, CEED, CAT and UCEED score.
Candidates who want to opt for BTech courses are required to have the basic qualification, i.e., Class 12 PCM with a minimum of 75% and a valid JEE Advanced score. JEE Advanced 2026 exams were held on 17 May 2026; those who clear JEE Advanced are advised to appear for JoSAA counselling for seat allotment. The institute will start the admission process after the JEE Advanced result declaration. Students will be required to pay an admission fee of INR 8,750 - INR 9,200 (mandatory). Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) Counselling is scheduled to start on 3 June 2026 (Tentative). IIT Bombay Admission Eligibility Criteria 2026
IIT Mumbai provides BTech, BS, MTech, MDes, MS (R), MA (R), MSc, MBA, Dual Degree courses at the UG, PG and PhD levels. The most sought-after disciplines at this institute are IIT Bombay CSE, EE, CE, and Aerospace Engineering. The basic eligibility criteria for candidates who want to pursue UG courses is Class 12 with a minimum percentage, while the PG course requires a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field. Students need to have a valid score in national-level entrance exams. IIT colleges in Mumbai also accepts some students based on INMO (Indian National Mathematical Olympiad). IIT Colleges in Mumbai Scholarships 2025
IIT Bombay grants scholarships on Merit-cum-Means basis along with a fellow assistanship to its students. Scholarships that are granted to IIT Bombay students are Merit-cum-Means, Free Messing Facilities to SC/ ST students, Named Scholarships, Remission of Fees and Teaching Assistantship.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: Merit Scholarship is awarded to new entrants who are JEE Advanced AIR and UCEED rank holders, and students pursuing a Dual degree in BTech+Mtech, while the Means scholarship will be granted based on the family’s annual income. Students availing this scholarship will get INR 20,000 to INR 40,000 per year, along with tuition fee exemption. In addition to this, girl candidates will get INR 10,000 per year under the special Women Merit scholarship.
Free Messing Facilities (SC/ ST): Students under reserved categories (SC/ ST) will get a tuition fee waiver, free messing facility, exemption from paying hostel fee, get INR 500 monthly allowance, and women candidates will get INR 10,000 under a special provision.
