Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) was established in 1961 and is one of the premier institutes for Business and Management studies under the initiative of the government of India, the Government of Gujarat, local industrialists of Ahmedabad, Harvard Business School, and the Ford Foundation. IIM Ahmedabad Admissions Details for 2026
IIM Ahmedabad offers a wide range of MBA courses, including the flagship course PGP, FABM, PGPX, BPGP, and ePGD-ABA. Admission to IIM Ahmedabad for PGP and PGP-FABM is done through CAT. For PGPX and ePGD-ABA, a valid GMAT/GRE scores are required, for which shortlisting will be based on an interview round. Additionally, for BPGP, admission is done through CAT, GRE/GMAT, and the IIMA admission test (IAT).

- Work Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of four years of full-time experience after graduation as of March 31, 2026.
- Application Rounds: Candidates may apply only once for the 2026-27 batch in the two application rounds.
- Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for eligibility.
For IIM Ahmedabad MBA - Post Graduate Programme in Management

- Educational Requirements:
- A Master’s degree or a 2-year Post Graduate Diploma (55% marks or equivalent), or a 5-year Integrated Master’s degree (55% marks or equivalent). OR
- A professional qualification (CA, CS, CMA with 50% marks) plus a Bachelor’s degree (55% marks or equivalent). OR
- A 4-year Bachelor's degree with at least 65% marks.

For IIM Ahmedabad PGP-FABM (Food and Agri-business Management)
Candidates applying to IIMA's PGP-FABM 2026-28 Batch must meet the following criteria:
- Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agricultural sciences or related fields with an aggregate of 50% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD).
- The candidate must have at least three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling.
- The candidate can submit the final year marksheet and degree certificate by December 31, 2026.
For IIM Ahmedabad BPGP Course
To be eligible as candidates, applicants must be working professionals or entrepreneurs with at least 3 years of full-time work experience after completion of graduation related to the program offered as of March 31, 2025. Candidates should be at least 24 years of age as of March 31, 2025, meaning he/she must be born on or before March 31, 2001. There is no upper age limit. Candidates must also hold a valid bachelor’s degree, CA, CS, ICWA, or equivalent in any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years of education (10 + 2 + 3 or 4 years based on the Indian education system) and at least 50% or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university.
For IIM Ahmedabad ePGD-ABA
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and excellent quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills. Also, candidates should have at least two years of work experience, usually involving business analytics, and may be exempted for exceptional academic or professional preparation in a related field. Finally, candidates should have a valid test score from any of the following exams: CAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE, or the ePGD-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test.
For IIM Ahmedabad Faculty Development Program (FDP)
The Faculty Development Program (FDP) is targeted at teachers and researchers operating in management schools, colleges, and universities. Additionally, the FDP is open to teachers at companies' training centers and teachers or researchers at government institutes that provide management courses. This FDP will help faculty who would like to learn about research, apply different pedagogies at their institutions, and become more familiar with research processes.
Entrance Exams for IIM Ahmedabad Admissions 2026
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) offers a large range of programs. The CAT is the primary test for entering the MBA and Executive MBA programs. IIM Ahmedabad’s selection criteria for 2026 are different across its degree programs and are detailed as follows:
For IIM Ahmedabad Post Graduate Programme in Management
To access the MBA program, the applicant will first be considered for a Personal Interview (PI) based on the applicant’s Composite Score which is a measure of the applicant’s performance across several measures including their CAT score (by section percentile and overall percentile), academic record from Class 10th and Class 12th, and diversity factor (gender and academic background).
The admission offer will actually be offered from the MBA program based on the Final Composite Score after the evaluation of the CAT score, Personal Interview (PI) score, academic record, and overall profile.
For IIM Ahmedabad MBA Food and Agri-Business Management (FABM)
- For the FABM MBA program, the candidates are shortlisted on the basis of a Composite Score comprising CAT score, academic record (Class 12th and 10th marks), and work experience.
- The final shortlisting is on the basis of the CAT score, PI performance, and academic record, with priority on the applicability of the work experience in the food, agriculture, or allied industries sectors.
- Diversity dimensions like gender and academic background are also given consideration.
For IIM Ahmedabad PGPX
The admission process for the PGPX 2026-27 batch has two steps. First, candidates who apply are shortlisted based on their test scores (GMAT/GRE) and leadership profile. These shortlisted candidates must then submit essays on the given topics. In the second step, they are interviewed by a group of IIMA faculty. The interviewers look at the candidate’s work experience, career growth, leadership skills, and achievements.
For IIM Ahmedabad ePGD-ABA
One of the courses at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is ePGD-ABA, which has a 16-month PG Diploma program. The program is delivered in hybrid learning and campus sessions. IIM Ahmedabad Fees
IIM Ahmedabad fees depend on the programs and specializations. It offers various PG, Diploma, and Doctoral programs. MBA programs such as MBA-PGP, PGPX, FABM, BPGP, and the program fee range is INR 20,00,000 to INR 36,20,000. The program fee for the FDP is INR 1,38,000, while for the PhD program is INR 1,37,000.

IIM Ahmedabad Scholarship
IIM Ahmedabad provides a range of entry scholarships to support diverse candidates.
