IIT Tirupati is an emerging Engineering and Technology Institute situated in Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 2015 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It was conferred the status of an Institute of National Importance under the Institute of Technology Act 1961. IIT Tirupati offers various courses such as BTech, MTech, MPP, MS (R), etc. at the UG and PG levels. It also offers PhD courses in a diverse range of fields, which include Chemical Engineering., Computer Science & Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, EE, and ME. IIT Tirupati Admission
IIT Tirupati invites applications to various UG, PG, and PhD courses for the academic year 2025-2026. Admission to these courses depends on merit, and a national-level entrance exam, such as JEE Advanced for the BTech course, while a GATE score is required for the MTech course. MSc admission is based on the student's performance in the national-level entrance test, IIT-JAM.
Admission will be concluded after a student has participated in the counselling process. Seat allotment for the BTech course will be done through JoSAA, while students are required to register on COAP for MTech counselling. On the other hand, students will need to register on JOAPS for the MSc admission.
IIT Tirupati opened its application for MTech on 22 March 2025 and closed its admission window on 22 April 2025. Admission for PhD programs started on 10 March 2025 and closed on 14 April 2025. The dates for the written test and interview are yet to be announced.
JEE Advanced has already been conducted, and the result has already been announced on 2 June 2025. Seat allotment through JoSAA Counselling for round 1 is finalised on 22 June 2025. The dates for the rest of the JoSAA rounds are mentioned below:

IIT Tirupati Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025
IIT Tirupati provides multiple courses such as BTech, MTech, MSc, MPP, PhD, etc., in a diverse range of streams like AI, CSE, EE, ME, etc. Admission to these courses is based on merit and entrance exams conducted nationwide. In addition to this, it is mandatory to have a minimum qualification, which differs depending on the level of the program chosen.
For example, to pursue a UG, a candidate must have passed Class 12, while a PG course requires a Bachelor’s degree. To pursue BTech, a candidate must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75% in PCM and must have a valid JEE Advanced score.
Candidates interested in pursuing MTech will need either a BE/ BTech or an equivalent Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 60%, along with a valid GATE score. If a candidate has done BTech from any IITs and has 8 or above CGPA, s/he will be eligible for direct admission without needing a GATE score.
To pursue an MSc, a candidate is required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Science or a relevant discipline and must qualify for IIT-JAM. Students willing to opt for a PhD must have a Master’s degree with at least 8 CGPA or above in a relevant subject, or must have qualified for national-level entrance tests such as GATE, CSIR-NET, UGC-NET/ JRF, etc.
NOTE: Reserved candidates will get a relaxation of 5%.

IIT Tirupati provides placement and internship opportunities to its students in various Engineering and Technology fields. At the UG level, BTech students receive various job offers from top recruiters such as Adobe, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, TCS, Accenture, etc. According to the 2023 placement record, the average salary package offered to students was INR 17.58 LPA.
IIT Tirupati Scholarships 2025
IIT Tirupati grants several scholarships, fellowships, and government grants to deserving candidates. These scholarships are based on academic performance and the financial need of the student. Some of the offered scholarships at IIT Tirupati are the Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Institute SC/ST Scholarship, 50% Free Studentship, and Institute Free Studentship.
It also offers the PM-Vidyalaxmi Scheme (collateral-free and guarantor-free education loans), an initiative of the Government of India to support students who want to pursue higher studies.
Institute SC/ST Scholarship: Reserved candidates (SC/ ST) whose parental income is not more than INR 4.5 Lakh annually are eligible for this scholarship. Students availing this scholarship will be exempted from hostel seat rent, mess charge concession of INR 8,000, and will get a monthly pocket allowance of INR 250.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: Under this scholarship, 25% of the total strength of the class will be awarded this scholarship based on their academic performance in the first semester exams. Students will benefit from a monthly allowance of INR 1,000 and will be exempted from paying the tuition fee.
NOTE: To enjoy the scholarship, the candidate will be required to maintain a minimum of 5 CGPA and above.
