According to the data of the year 2024-2025, students’ interest in IIT Bhubaneswar courses has been increasing. The most popular choices of students in the year 2025 are Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). CSE and ECE are becoming popular among the students, and have recorded growth of about 13.85% and 15.21% respectively. Apart from these core engineering branches, such as Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical, they also recorded a decent increase in the popularity of about 13.09%, 13.07%, and 11.76% respectively.
IIT Bhubaneswar introduced a new course in Mathematics and Computing, which also shows a good start for the first year, as around 12,580 students were admitted into this. The increasing popularity of IIT Bhubaneswar courses suggests strong enthusiasm among the students for both types of courses, new-technology-led programmes and traditional engineering programmes.
