Once again, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Kharagpur has redefined the trends in recruitment on its campus. The placement process for the academic session 2025-26 in Phase 1 has marked a record-setting achievement with 1501 placement offers being made. It consists of about 457 pre-placement offers (PPO) and 15 international job offers, but it also set a record in terms of the highest CTC package offered, which was INR 2.44 crore.
This time, the placement procedure has witnessed never-before interest from companies of every type. IIT Kharagpur claimed that it shattered the previous record of 1,000 job offers by 8 AM on day 2 itself, a record that was never achieved before.
