Top Colleges in Meghalaya: Admission & Eligibility Criteria

  • The MBBS admission in Meghalaya, primarily at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, is based on the NEET-UG exam. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC) and be 17 years or older by December 31 of the admission year. Applicants must also be residents of Meghalaya or have studied there.

  • The admission process begins in June, post-NEET results. Applications open in the third week of June, with counselling in July and August, and classes starting in September. Admission is done through state quota (85%) and All India Quota (15%), with counselling conducted by NEIGRIHMS.

  • In 2024, the NEET cut-off for the general category was 720–162 and 161–127 for SC/ST/OBC categories. NEIGRIHMS’s closing rank under AIQ went up to 24,000.
