The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the schedule for Stage 2 of the NIFTEE 2026 examination conducted for admission to postgraduate programmes. As per the announcement the personal interview round will take place from April 6 to April 11 in New Delhi.
The shortlisting of candidates to Stage 2 has been done, depending on their performance in the written examination in addition to category wise availability of seats and approved criteria of selection. Candidates were shortlisted based on set guidelines, with special consideration for PwD candidates.
In the case of NIFTEE 2026, the number of candidates that will be shortlisted will be in the ratio of 1 to 4, i.e. candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 4 to 1 position. This is in the case of MDes, MFM and MFTech programmes admissions.

NIFTEE 2026 Stage 2 for UG and PG Courses
The Stage 1 examination for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2026–27 was conducted on February 8 across 129 centres in 97 cities nationwide. The results of the computer-based written test were declared on March 20.
For undergraduate admissions, different Assessment processes will be followed depending on the programme. Candidates applying for the Bachelor of Design (BDes) course will undergo a Situation Test designed to assess their creativity, material handling skills and model making abilities.
BDes (NLEA) candidates will appear for a studio test along with a personal interview on the same day. Similarly, candidates under the BDes (Artisans) category will take an Artisan Skill Test followed by a personal interview at designated centres.
For B.F.Tech (NLEA) aspirants, a Technical Ability Test (TAT) will be conducted in paper-based (OMR) mode, along with a personal interview scheduled on the same day. However, the Stage 2 assessments for undergraduate programmes are expected to be conducted in around 20 cities across India.
