The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Undergraduate was conducted by NTA on 3rd May 2026. As per the official data, about 22.79 lakh students have given the NEET UG examination. This examination is conducted by the examination authority to ease the process of admission to programs like MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH.
According to the trends noticed, each year the difficulty level of the medical entrance examination is increasing. However, the students found Biology to be comparatively easy this year.
Checking the cutoff trends and patterns is important for students to understand the expected and upcoming cutoffs for admission. Various government and private institutions, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, admit students based on the score cards of the NEET Entrance examination. To appear in the counselling session, it is important to clear the examination and fall under the eligibility criteria.
NEET UG 2026, Expected Cutoffs for Admission
The nation in today's time has a lot of educationists and analysts, who have predicted that the NEET UG 2026 cutoff for the students belonging to the general category will be between 720 and 138; however, if the students are willing to secure their seats at the top government medical institute, the cutoff can rise to 620. The cutoff is divided into two broad categories, one for the qualifying and one for the admission. The minimum marks needed to pass the entrance examination are the qualifying cutoff, but there is absolutely no guarantee of admission. The admission is guaranteed to students who secure marks above the qualifying marks and fall under the category of admission cut-offs.
