Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP) is coming forward with Rhine-Main-Universities (RMU), a German Alliance of Universities for Joint Research Exchange Programs, Advanced PhD Programs, and Academic Career Excellence.
The Partnership is signed through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement that was recently signed at TU Darmstadt University, which is located in Germany, in the presence of a delegation led by Suman Chakraborty, the Director of IIT-Kharagpur, along with Ramanuj Banerjee, a Counsellor (Science and Technology) in the Embassy of India, Berlin, with other officials.
The MoU agreement signed will remain in effect for almost five years to boost the academic ventures between the university and the institution. This collaboration will cater to the joint project proposals, workshops, PhD training programmes, and joint researcher mobility between the two regions.

In Response to collaboration, Deputy Director of IIT KGP, Prof Rintu Banerjee said, "The MoU covers a partnership in academic and research between the two institutes in all areas of mutual interest and also includes the opportunities for faculty and student exchanges as well as the SAP (Study Abroad Programme)."
According to the statement, The collaboration represents a fresh chapter in the scientific alliance between India and Germany, a confluence of IIT-Kharagpur's innovation-driven ecosystem and the Rhine-Main Universities jam-packed with academic and research profundity. As a team, we want to create the next generation of researchers and innovators who are capable and willing to handle the global challenges.
