Australia’s Victoria University (VU) is going to construct and open its first Indian Campus in the Delhi NCR Campus, Gurgram, Haryana. Once this institutional campus is operational, it will be India’s first international campus that educates through Victoria University’s Block Model. In this Block Model Campus, students will study one subject at a time for four weeks in small workshop-style classes. VU was one of the first Australian universities authorized by the Indian government to set up a campus in India under the new National Education Policy (NEP). The Victoria University campus in Delhi NCR is expected to open by mid-2026.

The Australia’s Victoria University (VU) campus in India will initially provide undergraduate and postgraduate programs in courses like business, information technology, and research. The campus is inspired by VU’s modern City Tower Campus in Melbourne, and the India campus seeks to provide an accessible Australian education to Indian students. This led to minimizing the expenses associated with international travel and housing.

What is Australia’s Block Model Education

In the Block Model, students concentrate on a single subject during each four-week block. Classes are small and designed like workshops, encouraging greater interaction between teachers and students. VU states that this approach enhances focus and lessens academic pressure. The Block Model has proven successful in Australia, with the university reporting a 94 percent pass rate for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This is one of the excellent outcomes that has also been achieved through the students' retention, progression, and success.
