Shakti Dubey: A Journey of Persistence
Hailing from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Shakti Dubey’s UPSC journey began in 2018. A biochemistry graduate from Banaras Hindu University, she originally wanted to pursue medicine but shifted paths after being allotted dental in counselling.
Her success did not come easy; she failed prelims three times, reached the interview stage in her fourth attempt, and missed the cutoff by 12 marks last year, which she describes as her lowest moment. “I treated every day as a small step. Studying 8–10 hours and giving myself breaks kept me going,” she shared.
Harshita Goyal: From Self-Doubt to AIR 2
At 24, Harshita Goyal, a Chartered Accountant and commerce graduate, made a remarkable comeback after failing prelims twice. Clearing mains and interview for the first time in this attempt, she called the achievement “unbelievable.”
