The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has disclosed the tentative schedule for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2026. As per the notification available on the NBE's official website, the NEET MDS 2026 exam will be held on May 2, 2026.
As per the notice released by the NBEMS, the NEET MDS 2026 test will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) at multiple centers located across the country. Candidates who wish to appear for the test should check that they meet all the eligibility conditions, including their required internship being completed by the deadline.

NEET MDS Internship Completion Issue
NBEMS has specified that any candidate who wants to be eligible for NEET MDS 2026 must have their 12-month compulsory internship started and completed on the date no later than 31st May 2026, as per NBEMS notification. This date for completion of the compulsory internship has been considered one of the important criteria for admission, and a failure to comply with it will result in your being left out of the dental postgraduate admission process.

Brief Introduction to NEET MDS
NEET MDS is a nationwide entrance exam conducted for admission to postgraduate dental programs in India, which is a single qualifying test for Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses. Candidates holding a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree and being registered either with the Dental Council of India (DCI) or a State Dental Council (SDC) can apply, subject to meeting the internship requirement.
