The JoSAA Counselling 2026 registration process begins on 2 June as the JEE Main and JEE Advanced result 2026 are announced. The counselling is conducted for the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria so that they can complete their registration through the official JoSAA portal. This JEE Advanced Counselling 2026 helps students to secure admission to various top IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other participating institutes.
After registering, candidates will be able to fill in their preferred colleges and courses. The choice-filling window will open at 5 PM on June 2 and remain available until 11 June. This way, students are getting ample time to carefully select and arrange their preferences.

JoSAA 2026 Registration and Choice Filling: Steps to Follow
The candidates can complete the JEE Advanced Counselling 2026 process in three simple steps which are registration, login and choice filling.
Step 1: Register on the JoSAA Portal
To begin, candidates need to register using their JEE Main 2026 credentials by visiting the JoSAA official portal, which is https://josaa.nic.in/. Enter the required details, verify the OTP sent to the registered mobile number and email ID and create a password for the JoSAA portal.
Step 2: Log In and Confirm Details
After registering, candidates can log in using their JEE Main application number and the new password they've created. After logging in, they should carefully review their personal and academic information. If any information is incorrect, they can edit it before confirming their registration.
Step 3: Fill and Lock Choices
After confirming registration, candidates can start selecting their preferred institutes and courses. They can add multiple choices and arrange them in the order of their preference. Before the deadline on 11 June candidates must lock their choices to ensure they are considered for seat allotment.
In case a candidate does not lock their choices before the deadline, the last saved preferences will be automatically locked by the system and will be used for the seat allocation process.
