The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced a special reopening of the online application portal for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 on March 12, responding to numerous candidate requests for more time. This decision is taken by the authority as the number of applicant registrations is still in progress. The last date to apply online is today, March 13, 2026. The registration portal will be deactivated after 9:00 pm. Candidates can submit their JEE Main Session 2 application through the NTA JEE Main official website.
JEE Main 2026 Session 2 is scheduled as a computer-based test from April 2 to 9 across India and select international cities. The initial registration window ran from February 1 to 25, followed by a correction period on February 27-28.
Reopening Window
Due to candidate appeals after the portal closed, NTA is allowing fresh submissions from March 12 afternoon until March 13 at 9:00 PM, with fee payments accepted up to 11:50 PM on March 13. This one-time extension targets only those who missed the earlier deadlines. The exam conducting body is expected to release the city intimation slip in the second week of March. Candidate who will register the application can download the city slip through jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2026 Marking Scheme and Normalisation
JEE Main 2026 is organized as a computer-based test in a span of three hours only. Besides the duration, the test does not have any other features of surprise. The marking scheme is transparent and quite fair. For each correct response, 4 marks will be added to the total score of the candidate, whereas 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. Such a method of evaluation, on one hand, promotes accuracy and on the other, it discourages the candidates from taking wild guesses. Admit cards are likely to be released around March 28-30. Since the exam is held twice a year, it offers students more than one opportunity to improve their performance.
Critical Guidelines for Applicants
Candidates must enter accurate details, as no corrections will be offered post-submission. Those who have already applied successfully should not re-register or attempt changes.
