The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has released the official schedule for JEE Advanced 2026. The exam will be held on May 17, 2026 in two sessions on the same day. Paper 1 will take place from 9 am to 12 pm, while Paper 2 will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. All the candidates need to ensure that they must appear in both papers, as those who miss any paper will not be included in the merit list.
The registration process for Indian candidates will begin on April 23 and continue until May 2, 2026. Foreign candidates will be able to apply earlier, starting from April 6. The application process will be conducted online through the official website of JEE Advanced.
Admit cards for JEE Advanced 2026 will be available for download from May 11 to May 17, 2026. Candidates are required to bring a printed copy of their admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam centre. Soft copies of the admit card on mobile phones or other devices will not be accepted at the exam centre.
JEE Advanced 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Only those candidates who rank among the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) across all categories will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced.
Candidates are allowed to attempt the exam a maximum of two times in consecutive years. They must have appeared for Class 12 for the first time in either 2025 or 2026, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Students who have already been admitted to any of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are not eligible to apply again.
Answer Key and Response Sheet
After the exam, the candidate response sheets will be released on May 21 by the exam authorities. The provisional answer key will be published on May 25, and candidates will be given time to raise objections between May 25 and May 26 if they find any errors. The final answer key will release on 1st June 2026 after reviewing all the objections raised by the candidates.
JEE Advanced 2026: Result and Counselling
The results of JEE Advanced 2026 will be announced on 1st June, 2026 at 10 AM. The candidates who has appeared for the examination will be able to check their results online. They can check their scorecard through the official JEE Advanced website using their login details. The result will include the candidates’ scores as well as their rank.
After the declaration of results, the admission process will begin through the counselling conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The counselling begins on June 2nd, 2026. Candidates must sign up on the JoSAA portal and list their preferred top IITs and courses.
They will also have to take part in the seat allocation rounds for admission. Seats will be allotted based on the candidates JEE Advanced rank, category and the choices filled by them during counsellig session.
