Delhi University (DU) has decided to consider Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores for granting admission to its M.Tech programme in Microwave and Communication Engineering. This is the first time DU will useGATE scores for admission into a postgraduate course.
The decision has been taken after getting approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for the course.
DU Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi said that GATE scores have been used earlier for PhD admissions, but this is the first time they are being used for a postgraduate course. She also stated that the GATE scores will be considered first for admission. If seats will remain vacant, CUET-PG scores will be used in the next round.
The university has said that admissions for the M.Tech (Microwaves and Communication) programme will be done through a separate portal. It will not be part of the CSAS-PG (Common Seat Allocation System) portal.
