The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) have published the schedule for the online application process for undergraduate admissions through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) for the 2026 academic session. According to the official schedule, IAT 2026 registrations will begin on March 5, and eligible candidates will be able to apply online at IISER admission website.
As the notification released by the IISERs, the last date to submit the IAT 2026 application is April 13. The entrance exam is going to be held on June 7, 2026, in a computer-based mode at different test centers across India.
Admission in IISERs is mainly through the IISER Aptitude Test, which serves as the common entrance test for various BS, BS-MS integrated degree, and BTech courses offered at IISER campuses.

IISER IAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should have completed Class XII or its equivalent in 2024 or 2025, or should be taking it in 2026, from a board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. Students should have taken at least three among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as their main subjects study in Class XII.
Certain courses, such as BS-MS in Computational and Data Sciences (IISER Kolkata), BTech options at IISER Bhopal, and economics-oriented BS programs at IISER Bhopal and Tirupati, require Mathematics in Class XII.
Foreign or International candidates have to submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) unless they meet the Indian board standards.
Students who are still in class 12 and waiting for the exam and result on the date of application can still apply. However, the final admission is subject to verification of whether the candidate fulfils the core eligibility.
