The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has released the admission guidelines for its two-year postgraduate programme (PGP) for the academic batch 2026-28. In its admission criteria guidelines, the institute follows the three-stage selection process that is based on the CAT 2025 scorecardacademic performance in classes 10 and 12, work experience, and performance in the personal interview (PI).

As per the guidelines, candidates must appear for the CAT 2025 and score at least the minimum sectional and overall percentile cut-off to be considered. Candidates from the General and EWS categories must achieve a minimum overall cut-off of 90 percentile, with at least 80 percentile in each section. NC-OBC candidates need an overall cut-off of 80 percentile. For SC, ST and PwD candidates, the required overall cut-offs are 60, 45, and 45 percentiles to qualify, respectively.

IIM Indore PGP 2026-28: Eligibility For CAT 2025 Applicants

To get admission to the IIM Indore PGP course, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree scoring at least 50% marks or equivalent to a CGPA of 45% (or appear in their final year). Also, candidates who appeared in the CAT 2025 must fulfil at least a bachelor's degree, completed a professional degree such as CA, CS, ICWA, or FIAI. The deadline to submit the marksheet and certificate for this course is 31 December 2026.

IIM Indore PGP 2026-28: Shortlisting Process

IIM Indore gives a higher importance to Class 12 marks, accounting for 25 percent of the total score, while Class 10 marks make up 10 percent. CAT sectional scores contribute 55 percent weightage toward the overall shortlisting score. Work experience is given a weightage of 3 percent and diversity adds 7 points.

IIM Indore PGP 2026-28: Interview Details

IIM Indore said the candidates who are shortlisted will be informed about the interviews in January 2026. The interview will be primarily conducted in offline mode across seven cities of the country, which are Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, and Mumbai.

IIM Indore PGP 2026-28: Final Selection

In the final selection, the personal interview will hold the greatest weight, making up 45 percent of the total score. CAT sectional scores will account for 40 percent, with Class 10 and 12 marks contributing 5 percent each. Diversity will add an extra 5 marks.

IIM Indore has stated that simply meeting the eligibility or cut-off criteria does not ensure an interview invitation. Candidates must achieve the minimum required performance in each personal interview parameter; otherwise, they will be disqualified.

IIM Indore PGP 2026-28: Reservation and Special Cases

According to the Government of India Reservation Policy, IIM Indore will reserve 37 percent of the total intake for the national community and other backward classes (NC-OBC), 15 percent for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5 percent for Scheduled Tribes (ST), up to 10 percent for economically weaker sections (EWS) and 5 percent for persons with disabilities (PwD). All applicants must meet the minimum standards for performing under the admissions process, regardless of their reservation status.

For applicants who experienced disruption to their Class 10 or 12 board examinations due to COVID-19 board assessment-related policies, the value of their Class 10 or 12 examination score will be proportionally divided between the CAT scores and the boards' available scores. Finally, IIM Indore reserves the right to alter its admission procedures if any changes in government or institutionally established guidelines for admissions occur.
