IBPS PO Interview Process and Final Weightage

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ candidates undergoing the IBPS personal interview are only those who have successfully cleared the Mains exam. The IBPS interview, along with public sector banks, is the coordinating agency that conducts the personal interview of the candidates. In the interview, candidates are evaluated on many aspects of their personality, especially on skills and knowledge, which are described as under:

  • Knowledge of banking and current affairs

  • Communication and people skills

  • Personality, confidence, and clarity of answers

  • Ability to handle real-life situations and solve problems

The interview carries a total of 100 marks. A minimum of 40% marks is required for candidates of the General category to qualify, whereas for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates, the cut-off mark is 35%. The weighted average of the Merit List for Final Selection is the result of the IBPS interviews, incorporating 80% of the Mains exam and 20% of the interview marks. Candidates are provisionally allotted to different banks based on the final combined score. This is followed by the detailed verification of documents to confirm eligibility before the final ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌appointment.
