The computer-based Tier-I test was conducted at different centres nationwide from 16 to 18 September 2025.
As per the official notification, the roll numbers mentioned in the merit list refer to the candidates who have been shortlisted for the next stage, i.e., the IB ACIO Tier-II exam. The first level of the exam engaged candidates in general awareness, reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and English language. Only those performing well in Tier I will be allowed to appear in Tier-II.
Merit List and Shortlisting Process
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has made public on its official website a PDF containing the roll numbers of the candidates who have been shortlisted for the next round. The Tier-II exam can only be attended by individuals whose roll numbers are listed. Generally, this level comprises a descriptive paper that assesses the skills of essay writing, logical thinking, and English comprehension. The questionnaire is a significant part of the selection process as it helps to evaluate the applicant’s abilities in communication and problem-solving, which are among the primary requirements for the work both in the field and office in the Intelligence Bureau.
On the results PDF, the IB has communicated that the shortlisted candidates will get the intimation of the Tier-II admit card release through email and SMS. Click here to see the result PDF directly.
