GATE Application Form 2026
IIT Guwahati will release the GATE 2026 application form on 28 August 2025 on the official website, and the last date to apply is 28 September 2025 without the late fee. Additionally, candidates can fill out the application form till 9th October 2025 with a late application fee. Candidates should register on the official portal using their name, mobile number, and email ID. After completing the registration process, students have to fill in the details like academic, personal, and course details. After registration, the candidates must upload copies of their educational certificates, a passport-size photograph, and a signature.
Candidates will be allowed by IIT Guwahati to correct details in the application window from 28 October 2025 to 10 November 2025. The application fee for the form per test paper is INR 900 to INR 1800, which can be paid online on the official website.
GATE exam consists of 100 marks and candidates were given 3 hours to complete the exam. The exam comprises multiple choice questions (MCQ), multiple select questions(MSQ) and numerical answer type (NAT).

The IIT Guwahati has announced the GATE 2026 admit card date on the official website. Candidates who have completed the application form can download the admit card from 13 January 2026 by visiting the official site. Candidates were advised to download and take a printout of the admit card well before the exam. They must carry the printed admit card and ID proof to the examination centre. The admit card contains details like name, examination date and time, photograph, and signature.
GATE 2026 Exam Answer Key
The GATE 2026 answer key will be released on 27 February 2026* on the official exam website. The answer key contains the correct answer for all the exam questions. It also includes the candidate's response sheet, which helps them calculate their score before the official results are declared. If candidates find some incorrect answers, they can object to the challenge window provided by the NTA by paying a nominal fee. After review, the final answer key will be published by NTA on 2 April 2026* after the result is declared.
