CAT 2025 Registration Begins August 1: Key Details, Eligibility & How to Apply

The Indian Institutes of Management have officially opened the registration for the CAT Exam 2025, from 1 August 2025 at 10 AM. CAT is a gateway for aspirants seeking admission into India's top-tier management institutes like IIMs and more. This year, IIM Kozhikode is the lead and is conducting the CAT exam 2025, which is scheduled for November 30, 2025. CAT scores are accepted by 21 IIMs and over 1,000 top B-schools across India. The exam will be conducted in three sessions across more than 170 cities nationwide.

Candidates can find the application form on the official iimcat.ac.in website. Candidates will have until September 13, 2025 at 5 PM to complete their applications, and they can fill out the form on or before the last date. 

In 2025, the expected candidates to appear for the CAT exam 2025 is 2.5 lakh. Candidates are encouraged to complete the registration process early to avoid technical glitches and last-minute stress.

CAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates applying for CAT 2025 must fulfill one of the following:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks for general and 45% for SC/ST/PwD from a recognized university.

• Be in the final year of an undergraduate program.

• Hold a professional qualification such as CA, CS, ICWA, or equivalent with the minimum required marks.

Note that there is no age limit for appearing in the CAT exam. This serves as a great advantage for the candidates with a gap to appear for the examination. 

CAT 2025 Application Fee

Candidates must pay the application fee online using debit/credit cards, net banking, or UPI. The fee is non-refundable, so it is important for the candidates to ensure accuracy during form filling. 

How to Register

Here is a step by step guide to register for the CAT Exam 2025:

• Visit iimcat.ac.in, which is the official website of the conducting body, and click on New Registration.

• Enter your name, email, and mobile number to receive your login credentials via sms or email

• Fill out personal, academic, and work details.

• Upload scanned documents, including a photo and signature.

• Choose preferred test cities (up to five).

• Pay the application fee and submit the form.

• Download a copy of your application for future reference.

Important Notes for Students 

• A correction window will be available after registration for limited edits.

• Candidates should only use the official website for updates and form submissions.
