The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has started accepting the application forms for the full-time Master’s and PhD programmes under the Quality Improvement Programme for the academic session 2026-27. The Chairman of AICTE Prof. Yogesh Singh, has announced the launch of the Master’s and PhD programmes for the QIP along with an online application portal to make the admission process easier for the candidates. The last date for submitting the application forms is 30th April 2026 and interested candidates can submit their application on the official website of AICTE. The main motive of the board to launch the Master’s and PhD programmes under QIP is to improve the academic knowledge, teaching skills, and research abilities of faculty members working in well-reputed educational institutions across the country. Candidates filling out the application forms for the Master’s and PhD programmes under QIP need to complete the eligibility criteria which is given below.
Eligibility Requirements for AICTE QIP 2026 Master’s and PhD Programmes
Before or while filling out the application forms for the full-time Master’s and PhD programmes under QIP candidates must ensure that they are completing the particular eligibility criteria. In addition to this, a full-time regular permanent faculty member can apply. The eligibility criteria for the full-time Master’s and PhD programmes under QIP are as follows:

Candidates are required to have 3 years of teaching experience.
Along with that, a Master’s degree completed from a recognised educational institution is mandatory.
AICTE QIP 2026 Master’s PhD programmes Financial Assistance
Candidates who get selected for the PhD and Master’s programmes under QIP will get financial benefit through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The financial assistance provided to the candidates is:
INR 9,000 per month for Master’s students
INR 15,000 per month for PhD scholars
Additional annual contingency grant for academic expenses

Have valid AICTE Faculty ID
Candidate's need to submit a No Objection Certificate from their parent institution
Provide Aadhaar details

Application Process for the AICTE QIP 2026 Master’s and PhD programmes
For the admission in the AICTE QIP 2026 Master’s and PhD programmes, candidates are required to appear for the different stages of screening, including review by the Nodal QIP Centre at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and other QIP institutions. Moreover, candidates are also required to appear for the interviews or tests at their selected centres.
