UNESCO,​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, has formalized the opening of its Internship Programme 2025 that will be a unique opportunity for graduate students and recent postgraduates to get a practical experience in a globally respected institution. 

The time of the internship varies from one to six months, and the applicants willing to take part in this programme should send their application no later than 31 December 2025, midnight (Paris ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌time). UNESCO Internship 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Internship applicants should correspond to the criteria specified below.

  • Age:  The applicants need to be 20 years old or more when the application is ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌made.

  • Academic Qualifications: Applicants must either be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent) or have graduated with such a degree within the last 12 months. 

  • Languages:​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ An excellent command of either English or French is necessary. Besides, knowledge of any other official language of UNESCO (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish) would be a plus.

  • Skills: The candidates should have sharp analytical, communication, and organisational skills. Besides, they should have the ability to work in a team, and hence, a team-oriented environment would not be a problem for them.

Note: Ineligible are those having only a bachelor’s degree and not being engaged in further studies.

Internship Details

  • Duration: An internship period can be anywhere between one month and six months.

  • Location: Depending on the sector and the project, interns could be going to UNESCO Headquarters, field offices, or institutes.

  • Sectors: The positions are open for the different sectors like Education, Natural Sciences, Social and Human Sciences, Culture, and Communication and Information. As an instance, the Natural Sciences Sector is orienting its work in accordance with international frameworks like the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌Reduction.

  • Academic background (degree, institution, field of study)

  • Language proficiency (English, French, or other official UNESCO languages)

  • Motivation statement telling the internship interest and how the intern mission fits with UNESCO’s
