SSC Constable GD Exam 2026: Vacancies
The recruitment drive covers a total of 25,487 vacancies to be filled across various central forces including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Assam Rifles (AR) and the Secretariat Security Force (SSF).
Vacancy distribution (tentative) is as follows: 23,467 posts are reserved for male candidates, while 2,020 are set aside for female candidates.Among the forces, CISF has the highest number of openings of 14,595 posts, followed by CRPF with 5,490, and then the Assam Rifles, ITBP, BSF, SSB and SSF.
Additionally, 10% of the vacancies have been marked for ex-servicemen, and the majority of allocations will follow a state/union-territory-wise roster, except for SSF, which will conduct recruitment on an all-India basis.
SSC Constable GD Exam 2026: Eligibility & Age Criteria
To be eligible, candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board as of January 1, 2026.The age criteria state that the applicants must be between 18 and 23 years old as of January 1, 2026, that is, to be born between January 2, 2003 and January 1, 2008. Age relaxations will apply for candidates from reserved categories and ex-servicemen, as per the government norms.Candidates with disabilities are ineligible for this round of recruitment.

SSC Constable GD Exam 2026: Selection Process & Exam Details
The selection process for the SSC GD Exam 2026 consists of multiple stages, which are a Computer-Based Examination, Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Detailed Medical Examination, and Document Verification
The computer-based examination is expected to take place between February and April 2026.The exam will feature 80 objective-type questions, each carrying 2 marks, with a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The test will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 other regional languages.Selected candidates under this recruitment drive will be placed at Pay Level-3, which ranges from INR 21,700 to INR 69,100 per month.
