NEET UG Counselling Registration 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has updated its official NEET UG 2026 counselling portal, which reflects that the MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026 process is likely to begin soon. The authorities have not released the complete counselling schedule yet. Currently, the Candidate Activity Board on the MCC website displays "Will Update Soon," and this suggests that the authorities are in the final stages of preparations. As per the latest reports, the NEET UG 2026 Round 1 counselling registrations are expected to begin by August 7.
The updated MCC portal displays the NEET UG 2026 admission and e-counselling section. It also contains important eligibility notices for NRI candidates, PwBD admissions and CW certificate verification. After the official schedule for the NEET UG 2026 admission process is released, candidates can register for the counselling process and fill and lock their preferred choices. Students can then take part in the seat allotment process for MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses.

Health Minister Reviews NEET UG 2026 Counselling Preparations
Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda held a high-level review meeting on July 29 to assess preparations ahead of the NEET UG 2026 counselling process. He reviewed the proposed counselling schedule, digital systems, cybersecurity measures, grievance redressal mechanism, candidate support services and coordination with the participating medical colleges during the meeting.
The minister called on officials to make sure the counselling process is fair, transparent and merit-based. He also directed them to make sure that the admission process was smooth and convenient for all the medical aspirants.
NEET UG 2026 Counselling Process: How It Works
MCC will conduct the counselling process for 15% All India Quota seats in medical and dental colleges in India. The candidates who fulfil the NEET UG 2026 counselling eligibility criteria will need to complete the online registration process and fill in their preferred choices of colleges and courses within the given time period.
The seat allotment will be based on the candidate's rank in the NEET UG 2026 exam, college & course preferences filled by candidates and the number of seats available. Those who are satisfied with their seat allotment will have to report to the allotted college for verification of documents and payment of admission fees.
Students can choose the Float option, who wish to get a better seat in the upcoming rounds. Under this option, candidates can keep their allotted seat while also participating in further rounds for seat upgradation.
