MBA Admissions 2026 at IIM Raipur will now be done through a Joint Admissions Process (JAP), including three other IIMs, including  IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, & IIM Tiruchirappalli for the MBA admissions process. This step has been taken to form a common admission basis for all the MBA course programmes while still preserving the main criteria for the same.

As per the latest announcement, this step is introduced to avoid the duplication scenario during the admission process at different IIMs. Even though the admission framework will be the same, the institute-specific selection guidelines will still be applicable for the MBA admissions for each of the IIMs. Shortlisting will be done for the candidates based on the PI (Personal Interview) round.

As per the previous guidelines, cutoffs for the particular institutes will still be applicable for the respective management courses offered by the IIMs. The PI round for MBA admissions 2026 is scheduled to happen between February and March 2026.

IIM Raipur will be coordinating the JAP (Joint Admissions Process) 2026 process and will oversee the management process for MBA admissions, including the coordination responsibility for the IIMs (Indian Institute Of Management) participating for JAP 2026.

Reason behind replacing CAP with JAP

As per the last announcements, IIM Sambalpur & IIM Raipur had chosen the JAP process instead of CAP for conducting the MBA admissions for the year 2026, including 10 other IIMs as well, including Trichy, Nagpur, Udaipur, Bodhgaya, Kashipur & Jammu.

The director professor at IIM Raipur, Ram Kumar, said that the institutions now consider candidates with a more business spirit, which cannot possibly be evaluated from the CAP-only interview process. The institute admitted the growing need of selections based on the profile and offline mode of interview, to be conducted at different exam centres.

This step has been taken to form a common admission basis for all the MBA course programmes while the main admission eligibility criteria of MBA courses remain the same.
