The National Testing Agency has officially released the provisional answer keys and student response sheets for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 on their official portal. Students can check it through the official website. Candidates who find an issue in the provided answers can challenge as the window is currently open but will close at 11:50 PM tonight, February 6, 2026. To challenge a question, a candidate must log in to the website, select the specific questions they wish to challenge, and pay a processing fee of INR 200 per question objection.
This release allows candidates to cross-check their marked answers with the official solutions to calculate an estimated score well before the formal results are announced. Looking ahead, the NTA is expected to publish the final version of the answer key once all student feedback has been reviewed. Following this, the official Session 1 results will be released by February 12.
Candidates have to note that this upcoming result will focus on their subject-wise and total percentile scores. As candidates won't see their All India Rank yet. As the National Test Agency(NTA) is also expected to release the Final JEE Mains answer key soon at any time.
How can candidates challenge their JEE Main 2026 answer key?
Candidates who are looking to challenge their Provisional Answer key of JEE 2026 can challenge it until 6 February 2026 at https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/. All the challenges raised by a candidate must be submitted correctly with a minimum amount. Here are the steps to challenge the JEE Main answer key 2026 as below
Step 1: Go to the official website of https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.
Step 2: Click on ‘Answer Key Challenge for JEE Main 2026 Session 1
Step 3: Now, candidates have to log in after filling in their personal details, such as application number and password.
Step 4: Once logged in, the candidate can see the Question IDs along with the Option IDs.
Step 5: If a candidate challenging for the correct option, they will have to click the check box of their preferred option ID.
Step 6: Supporting documents can be uploaded during the time of challenge.
Step 7: Click on Save your claim option and pay the fee.
Step 8: An amount of INR 200 has to be paid for every challenge, through net banking/credit card/debit card.
