The wait of lakhs of engineering aspirants all around India is almost over now, since the National Testing Agency (NTA) is about to start registration for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1. The agency has already declared the important dates and procedural changes, indicating that the registration process will start in October 2025, prior to the exam, which will be held between January 21 and January 30, 2026.
The agency has already enabled a demo registration link where candidates can now get used to the new process. It is recommended that the aspirants should have documents at hand, verify their Aadhar numbers, and visit the official site to get the latest updates on the announcements and direct links to the application.
JEE Main 2026 Registration Key Dates & Sessions
As stated in the official notice, JEE Main 2026 will be conducted once again in two sessions:
The registration of the first session will likely start in October 2025. The NTA has not yet confirmed any specific opening date.
JEE Main 2026 Registration Process and Document Verification
Once the portal is open, the candidates will apply through the official site: jeemain.nta.ac.in.  The procedure will include login details such as Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email ID. The demo registration link is already in place to enable aspirants to familiarise themselves with the process.
NTA has also implemented Aadhaar-based authentication in an attempt to simplify the registration process and minimize cases of mismatches, and requires that candidates have their names, dates of birth, and other information as it appears on their Aadhaar cards and class 12 certificates. It is advised that aspirants renew their Aadhaar and category certificates long before they are registered so that they do not face any disqualification or delays.
JEE Main 2026 Exam Pattern, Eligibility & Accessibility
The JEE Main 2026 will remain in CBT. In the case of Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), the traditional Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics pattern is still in place. The eligibility requirements will also include passing class 12 (or equivalent) with the required percentage. The information will be included in the information bulletin upon release.
NTA has also declared that it will increase the number of exam centres in India to facilitate accessibility for students in remote areas. In addition, other services like mock-test practice portals and live helplines are likely to be provided to help the candidates in registration and preparation.
