Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2026
Candidates who qualify for JEE Advanced 2026 must satisfy several criteria. First, they need to be amongst the best 2,50,000 students (in all categories) in the BE/BTech section of the JEE Main examination conducted in the year 2026. Second, candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2001, but there is a concession period of five years in the case of SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
Moreover, the candidate can give the JEE Advanced exam twice in two consecutive years. The candidate needs to take the Class 12th (or equivalent) exam for the first time in the year 2025 or 2026. Finally, candidates who have already accepted admission at any IIT, irrespective of whether they have taken up the course or not, are not eligible to take the JEE Advanced examination.
Documents Required for Upload
Certain types of documents are mandatory for submission by the applicants while applying. The list includes the Class 10 certificate if the date of birth is mentioned therein; otherwise, the birth certificate. In addition, the Class 12 certificate is to be uploaded if it exists, especially when the candidate has appeared for the exam in 2025 or 2026. The 2026 marksheet, if it is available, needs to be uploaded.
The candidates whose names differ from what is written in their Class 10 certificates will have to submit gazette notifications mentioning changes in names. Similarly, candidates falling under the reserved categories will need to upload caste or category certificates.
With the deadline rapidly approaching, it is highly recommended that candidates do not wait and complete their JEE Advanced 2026 application process as soon as possible to prevent any technical problems or server overloads.
