GATE 2026 Admit Card Out: Check Steps to Download Hall Ticket

IIT Guwahati has officially released the GATE 2026 admit cards today on January 13, 2026. The admit cards are available for download from the GOAPS portal. 

On January 2, 2026, IIT Guwahati conveyed through a notification that they have postponed the release of the admit cards. They did not mention the reason for the delay, although, in general, such rescheduling is normally due to technical or administrative difficulties.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a highly competitive national-level examination for engineering graduates that leads to admissions in higher education and jobs in the public sector. The 2026 exam is conducted by IIT Guwahati, along with IISc Bengaluru and other IITs.

How to Download GATE 2026 Admit Card 

Step 1: Candidates who have successfully submitted the GATE 2026 application form must visit the official GOAPS portal at https://goaps.iitg.ac.in/login.

Step 2: On the homepage, fill in the required fields including Enrollment ID, Password and Captcha. For the Captcha, the candidate have to solve a simple arithmetic expression and then login.

Step 3: After submitting, the admit card will be opened in the window. Candidates should download and print the admit card for exam day use.

GATE 2026 Mock Test Links Available

While the admit card release has been delayed, IIT Guwahati has made mock test links live on the official portal. The candidates can click on the link https://gate2026.iitg.ac.in/mock-test-links.html and access their respective subject mock test link. This helps candidates familiarise themselves with the exam interface and practice under simulated exam conditions.

Impact on Students

The delay in the exam has stirred a lot of anxiety among the aspirants. A large number of them were on the verge of confirming their travel and lodging plans once they got their admit card details. Nevertheless, as the examination dates have not been altered, it is recommended that the students should:

  • Maintain their study schedule as planned.

  • Keep an eye on the official GATE 2026 website for any new updates and notifications.

  • Mock test papers should be utilised to enhance one's preparedness for the test.
