All the candidates applying for admission to Delhi University via the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for UG programs can re-order higher preferences from 24 July 2025. The official sources have announced that the window to reorder higher preferences on the Common Seat Allocation System was opened on July 24, 2025, Thursday, at 5:00 PM. This comes as a crucial announcement to the candidates before the second round of seat allocation. Candidates will then be able to adjust and optimize their preferences for colleges and courses, as per the availability of data. The higher preference reorder window will be closed by today at 4:59 PM on July 25, 2025Friday. In addition to this, the vacant seats will also be displayed on the official website from July 24, 2025, at 5:00 PM.

How the DU Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Works

With the official data related to seat availability visible to the candidates, they will be able to alter their course order and modify their college preferences. Furthermore, candidates can enhance their chances of securing a better option in the second seat allotment round. The CSAS UG portal comes as the go-to official online admission system from Delhi University for seat allocation, making the process fair, transparent, and streamlined.

Here’s how to navigate the DU CSAS UG portal, the one central platform.

Step 1 - The first step is to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG 2025).

Step 2 - Register on the CSAS UG portal by uploading documents and filling in personal details and CUET score.

Step 3 - Upon completion of registration, candidates can now rank their preferred colleges and courses in any number of combinations.

Step 4 - Multiple seat allotment rounds will be released by DU, based on candidates’ UG scores, category, ranked preferences, and availability of seats. The overall analysis will offer the highest possible reference to the candidates.

Step 5 - Upon the seat allotment, the candidates can either accept the seat or opt for an upgrade. The latter will open a consideration window for the candidate for a better preference.

Step 6 - Following the first round, the candidate will see the ‘Vacancy Display’ on the CSAS UG. Students can then reorder their preferences before the second seat allotment round begins.

Step 7 - Once the candidates get their preferred college and course, they can lock the allotted seat, pay the online fee, and get their physical verification done.

What’s After This?

After candidates have been allotted the seats, the acceptance window will open from July 28, 2025, 5:00 PM and will remain open till July 30, 2025, 4:59 PM. Candidates must accept the seats allotted to them before July 30, 4:59 PM. In addition to this, the window gives candidates another chance to try upgrading to a higher preference. The upgrade allowance will only be considered on the basis of seat availability.
