CBSE CSSS Scholarship 2025: Fresh And Renewal Applications Open Now, Check Key Details Here

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the application process for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS) 2025. Those who are looking to register for a fresh application or renew for the years of 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021 can do so by visiting the official NSP website. 

The deadline to complete the application for renewal and new application is 31 October 2025. It is advisable that candidates apply within the specified deadline and get their documents and application verified with the respective institutions. Failing to do so can result in the rejection of their application.

How To Start A Fresh Application For CSSS 2025?

Step 1: Visit the official National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the ‘New Registration’ tab and enter the details.

Step 3: Complete the e-KYC process using the Aadhaar number and OTP sent to the mobile.

Step 4: Log in by entering the application ID and password.

Step 5: Click on the option of ‘Fresh Application’ to start a new application.

Step 6: Fill in the personal, academic, and bank details as required.

Step 7: Upload the necessary documents (Aadhaar card, income certificate, bank passbook, Class 12 mark sheet, etc.).

Step 8: Select ‘Central Sector Scholarship’ from the list of available schemes.

Step 9: Review the application and click on ‘Final Submit.’

Step 10: Make sure the application is verified by the school/college for successful processing.

Note: In order to get the one-time registration (OTR) number, candidates will have to use their Aadhaar card, which will automatically fetch the candidates’ personal details. So, if the details on the Aadhaar card are outdated, candidates will first have to update their Aadhaar card. This ensures that the latest information is accurately reflected during OTR and scholarship application. 

CBSE CSSS 2025 Important Details To Note

The CSSS scheme’s aim is to offer financial support to students in order to help them with their education expenses during their graduation and postgraduation studies. Here are some important points for the CSSS scheme:

• Students pursuing undergraduate studies get INR 12,000 per year for the first three years.

• Postgraduate students receive INR 20,000 per year.

• To be eligible for the scholarship, the students need to score 80 percentile in their class 12 board exam.

• Candidates must be pursuing regular degree courses.

• Candidates’ family income should not exceed INR 4.5 lakh per annum.
