Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released notification for all of its affiliated schools regarding the conduct of the Annual Practical Examination/Internal Assessment/Project for Class 10th and Class 12th that will start on 1st January 2026 for the academic year 2020-26.
Advisory Guidelines for CBSE Affiliated Schools and Students
As per the officials, The CBSE board has advised to ensure sufficient number of practical answer books has been received in the schools before the scheduled date for the conduct of practical examinations. In case of any issue, please get in touch with the concerned regional office.
The School should inform the parents and students for the conduct of Annual Practical Examination / Internal Assessment / Project to make them aware of it.
Ensure the availability of necessary equipment, laboratories or facilities for the smooth conduct of the examination.
Contact the assigned External Examiners by CBSE.
Make the required arrangements for the Children With Special Needs (CWSN) to conduct Annual Practical Examination / Internal Assessment / Project so that they can also participate comfortably.
The students will appear in the practical examination as per the schedule set by their schools.
The marks in respect of Annual Practical Examination / Internal Assessment / Project will be uploaded everyday i.e. on the day of examination conduct.
While uploading the marks, school name, The Internal examiner and The External Examiner shall ensure that correct marks are uploaded as no correction in the marks will be allowed once uploaded.
CBSE has instructed schools to give performance based marks to the students.
The board has clearly instructed the students participating in National / International Sports will not be given any exemption.
For Class 12th students, Practical Examination will only be conducted by the External Examiner provided by the CBSE.
If any school appointed any other External Examiner that is not appointed by the CBSE, then their assessment will be treated as Null and Void.
If any school does not follow the instructions given by the CBSE board, the board reserves to cancel the Practical Examination of that school.
Schools are advised to conduct Annual Practical Examination within the given time frame i.e. from 1st January 2026 to 14th January 2026.
Schools facing any problem regarding the conduct of Annual Practical Examination / Internal Assessment / Project for Class 10th and Class 12th are advised to contact the CBSE Regional Office without any last-minute delay.
