Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), the organising institute for JEE Advanced 2026, has issued the official information brochure with significant updates regarding the exam schedule, application fee, zonal institutes, and examination centres. The news states that JEE Advanced 2026 is scheduled for May 17 2026, and the online application will be available from April 23, 2026.

A significant change introduced this year is the revision of application fees, particularly for those candidates who choose examination centres outside India. The updated fee structure is given below.

The application fee must be paid online during registration and covers the cost of appearing for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Compared to last year, the fee for foreign centres has been increased by $50 across categories. IIT Roorkee also announced changes in the zonal coordinating institutes. For JEE Advanced 2026IIT Bhubaneswar will be the zonal institute for the East Zone instead of IIT Kharagpur. In the South Zone, the duty of conducting the exam will be with IIT Madras, taking over from IIT Hyderabad. The 23 IITs continue to be divided into seven zones for conducting the examination.

There has also been a revision in exam cities. Pathankot and Saharanpur have been removed from the list. Candidates from Himachal Pradesh can choose Hamirpur, Kangra (Dharamshala), Mandi, and Shimla, while Uttar Pradesh will have centres in cities such as Agra, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Noida, Varanasi, and others. As per the brochure, candidates must select 10 exam cities or towns during the online registration process.
