The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the portal, which was closed on 30 September, has now been reopened from 3 October 2025 for those schools that were unable to complete the process on time. Though all submissions made during this extended period of time will have to pay late fees.
The CBSE has confirmed two separate deadlines for payment depending on the mode of payment. The final day for the challan payment is 8 October 2025. And for online transactions such as UPI, NEFT, RTGS, Internet banking, debit card, and International payments, the last day is 11 October 2025 till 11:59. The CBSE board has clarified that there will be no further extension under any circumstances. The board stated that despite giving repeated reminders, communications, and sufficient time given many affiliated schools have failed to upload the data within the given deadline. This will be the final opportunity for schools to complete the List of Candidates process for their students.
Importance of LOC Submission
The LOC is a compulsory step to follow before the board examination. It officially registers students of classes 10 and 12 as eligible students for the coming CBSE board exam. Failure to submit the LOC on time will result in being barred from appearing in the examination.
The CBSE board has already issued 8 reminders to the affiliated schools before the original September 30 deadline. Despite this, many schools could not complete the process, urging the board to reopen the portal with a late fee provision.
LOC Portal: CBSE’s Advisory to Schools
CBSE has strongly recommended that schools should not wait to take timely action in its official notice. The board indicated that it is the responsibility of schools to ensure that timely submissions are made and that failure to do so could have a negative impact on their students. CBSE has also encouraged principals and administrators to ensure that the LOC is completed well in advance to prevent last-minute hassles.
The board noted that it is up to the schools to submit their reports accurately and on time only. Schools must ensure that they check details of students thoroughly before uploading to prevent mistakes, which could become a hassle in admit cards or results.
LOC Portal: Final Window of Relief
Reopening the portal has given the schools a last opportunity to have all the deserving candidates secure their place in the examinations to be conducted in 2026. The board has, however, clarified that no more requests or representations shall be received after October 11, 2025. The purpose of this move is to achieve flexibility and accountability. The CBSE board has given another chance to schools that missed the earlier deadline, but it has also made it clear that this will be the last extension.
