Good news for candidates willing to take admission in MBA and to appear in CAT 2025. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has officially extended the last date to register for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025. Earlier scheduled to close on September 13, the registration window will now remain open until September 20, 2025, 5:00 PM.
This extension gives candidates an extra week to complete their applications for one of Indiaâs most important entrance exams for MBA and PGDM programs. CAT (Common Admission Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the IIMs. It is used for admission into MBA and other postgraduate management programs at Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Several top business schools across India
CAT is held once a year and tests candidates in three areas:
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
Quantitative Ability (QA)
The exam is computer-based and lasts for 120 minutes. This year, CAT 2025 will be held on November 30, 2025, in three sessions across 170 cities.
Why Was the Deadline Extended?
According to Prof. P N Ram Kumar, the Convener of CAT 2025 from IIM Kozhikode, the decision to extend the deadline was made to accommodate the large number of requests from students. Many candidates were facing last-minute issues such as:
Technical glitches during form submission
Trouble uploading documents
Payment delays
The extension ensures that no eligible candidate misses the opportunity to apply due to avoidable problems.
