The Border Security Force or also known as BSF, has officially announced the Constable Tradesmen Recruitment 2025, offering a golden opportunity for candidates across India to join the country’s frontline defence force. The online application process for the BSF Constable Tradesmen Recruitment has started today July 26, 2025, and will continue until August 25, 2025, through the official BSF recruitment portal, rectt.bsf.gov.in. During this period, candidates interested in the defence will be able to apply by filling out the application form. 

This recruitment drive will be for 3,588 vacancies for various trades such as Cook, Tailor, Cobbler, Carpenter, Plumber, Washerman, Sweeper, Barber, Electrician, Painter, and more. Out of the total posts, 3,406 are for male candidates and 182 for female candidates.

BSF Constable Tradesmen Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the recruitment include certain age and educational qualification criteria. Here is a breakdown of the eligibility criteria required for BSF Constable Tradesman Job: 

• Age Limit: 18 to 25 years as of August 25, 2025 (age relaxation as per government rules)

• Educational Qualification:

  • For technical trades (Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, etc.): 10th pass + 2-year ITI certificate OR 1-year ITI + 1-year experience

  • For non-technical trades (Cobbler, Tailor, Sweeper, etc.): 10th pass + proficiency in trade + must pass trade test

  • For Cook, Waiter, Water Carrier: 10th pass + NSDC-recognised food/kitchen course

BSF Constable Tradesmen Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in four stages:

1. Physical Test: Includes height, chest measurement (for males), and fitness activities

2. Written Exam: Objective-type questions from General Awareness, Hindi/English, Maths, and Reasoning

3. Trade Test: Practical skill test for the applied trade

4. Medical Examination: Full body check-up to ensure fitness for duty

Selected candidates will receive a salary in Pay Level 3, ranging from INR 21,700 to INR 69,100, along with allowances like House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and Medical Benefits.
