On Sunday, December 14, 2025, National Law University (NLU), Delhi, will administer the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026. The entrance exam for applicants to NLU Delhi's BA, LLB, LLM, and PhD programs will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Prior to the test, the university has released detailed exam day guidelines that candidates must follow.

To ensure a seamless and hassle-free exam experience, AILET candidates are advised to carefully read and adhere to all instructions on the admit card. Following the guidelines, arriving on time, and making the necessary preparations are all necessary to avoid last-minute issues on exam day.

AILET Exam 2026: Required Documents and Reporting Schedule

Students should not forget to bring their admit card and a valid photo ID when they show up for the AILET 2026 exam. If students forget the admit card, they won’t let you in, no exceptions. Simply, candidates should aim to get to the exam center about an hour to an hour and a half early. It gives them enough time to get through seating and verification without feeling rushed. Once the clock hits 2:15 PM, the doors close, and nobody gets in after that.

Important Exam Day Instructions

Inside the exam room, only specific items are permitted. Candidates may bring an admit card, a picture ID, a transparent water bottle, and a blue or black ballpoint pen. Electronic devices such as cell phones, calculators, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and other gadgets are strictly prohibited. Any candidate found to have engaged in unfair practices will be immediately eliminated.

After the exam, candidates must remain seated until all OMR response sheets have been collected, at which point they must sign their admit card in front of the invigilator.

AILET Dress Code and Prohibited Items Guidelines

Candidates must adhere to stringent dress and item guidelines because the AILET is a national exam. Pupils should dress lightly and wear a sleeveless shirt or T-shirt without big buttons, badges, or logos. You can only wear sandals or slippers. It is not appropriate for female candidates to wear jewelry or accessories like badges, chains, rings, or nose pins.

Food items, metallic objects, and electronic devices such as cell phones, Bluetooth devices, headphones, cameras, or smart bands are prohibited for candidates. Handbags, wallets, belts, caps, and goggles are examples of personal items that are not allowed. Books, calculators, pencil boxes, and loose papers are not permitted in the exam room.

AILET OMR Sheet Instructions and Guidelines for Candidates

The OMR sheet is a crucial part of the AILET exam because each response is evaluated using it. Candidates must carefully follow the OMR filling instructions to avoid mistakes that could lower their final score.

  • Pen and paper will be used for the AILET exam. Candidates must mark their answers on an OMR response sheet.

  • Do not open the sealed envelope containing the question paper and OMR sheet before 2:00 PM.

  • Fill out the OMR sheet and mark your responses using only a blue or black ballpoint pen.

  • Put your roll number, question booklet number, and signature in the appropriate spaces.

  • The question paper will have 150 multiple-choice questions, and all questions will be in English.

  • For each question, select only one correct answer and fully darken the circle. Partially filled circles will not be checked.

  • Marking more than one option for a question will be treated as a wrong answer.

  • Each correct answer will get 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

  • Handle the OMR sheet carefully. Do not fold, tear, wrinkle, or staple it.

  • After the exam, turn in the original OMR sheet to the invigilator. You are free to keep the carbon copy of the OMR sheet and the used question booklet.
