The Union Public Service Commission is set to release the notification of Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) II today, on 28 May 2025. Candidates who are eyeing to join the Indian Armed Forces through CDS can view the detailed notification on the official UPSC site upsc.gov.in.
The CDS consists of two stages: first, the written examination and second, the SSB interview. The structure of the exam varies depending on the academy applied for by the candidate. For IMA, INA, and AFA, the exam consists of three subjects, english, general knowledge, and mathematics, with each section of two hours, making it a six-hour exam. For OTA, the exam consists of an English and a general knowledge section, with each section lasting two hours.

Step 3: Complete the registration process by filling in details like mobile number, date of birth, and email ID.
Step 4: Log in to the portal again and fill out the application form by uploading the documents and paying the examination fee.
Step 5: Click on Submit and download the completed form.
Step 6: Take a Printout of the form for future reference.
The Combined Defence Services (CDS) I exam was held on April 13, 2025, and candidates who were able to clear the written test proceeded to the SSB (Service Selection Board) interview, which assesses their leadership and officer-like qualities. Its results were declared on 28th April 2025, and qualified candidates will have to undergo training at their respective academies before being commissioned as officers in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force.
