UGC Fake Universities List 2025: Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka Exposed to Warn Students

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the list of three fake universities across Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka, which are operating without any legal recognition under the UGC Act, 1956, or approvals from bodies like AICTE. NIMS, Delhi; Sarva Bharatiya Shiksha Peeth, Karnataka; and National Backwards Krushi Vidyapeeth, Maharashtra, are the universities which are recently been declared fake by the UGC. The University Grants Commission advised the students and parents to be careful and not enrol for any of the programmes in these universities.  

What is the official notice issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC)?

The official notice issued by UGC states that “Sarva Bharatiya Shiksha Peeth, Rashtriya Pichhda Krishi Vidyapeeth, Maharashtra, and NIMS, Delhi, are not recognised by UGC under Section 2(f)/Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, nor approved by AICTE or any other statutory body. Any degree issued by these educational institutes is not valid for Higher Education/Government Job purposes.” The statutory body further advised students, parents, and the public Not To Take Admission in any of the above-mentioned universities.
