The registration process has now started for UCEED 2026 and CEED 2026 for design aspirants all over the country. Conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, both exams will be held on 18 January 2026 from 9 AM to 12 noon (IST). Candidates can register without the late fee until 31 October 2025 and the late registration can be completed until 7 November 2025 after paying an additional late registration fee. Candidates will have to visit the official websites to register and complete the form with the required details.
The UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) provides admission to undergraduate Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs while the CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) examination is for PG courses such as M.Des and Ph.D. These exams are very important to assess design aptitude, creative and visualization abilities, logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Soon after qualifying for these exams, the students are guaranteed admission into prestigious institutes such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur.

UCEED 2026 & CEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility requirements for the UCEED 2026 and CEED 2026 exams in simple words:
UCEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
Candidates in the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category should be born on or after 1 October 2001.
For SC, ST, and PwD category candidates, the cutoff birth date is 1 October 1996.
Number of Attempts:
Candidates can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times and these attempts must be in consecutive years. Additionally, the UCEED score is valid for only one academic year and must be used for admission in the same year.
Qualifying Examination:
Applicants must have taken their Class 12th examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026.
Students from all streams are eligible.
Candidates who appeared for Class 12th for the first time in 2024 or earlier are not eligible.
Students who have already been allotted a B.Des seat in any participating institute after the final seat allocation are not eligible to appear.
CEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have completed or be appearing for the final examination of a graduate degree, diploma, or PG degree program of at least three years after the 10+2 level by July 2026.
Candidates who passed a GD Arts diploma (10+5 level) by July 2026 are also eligible.
There is no age restriction for taking the CEED exam.
Candidates can appear for CEED any number of times.
