TNPSC Group 1 Prelims 2025: Result Declared, View Scorecard Now

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has officially released the result for Group 1 Preliminary Examination 2025 on its website, tnpsc.gov.in. This result is for over 1.86 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam, which was held on 15 June 2025, across 44 centres in Tamil Nadu.

The Group 1 exam is a part of the Combined Civil Services Examination–I. This is conducted to recruit candidates for various prestigious posts such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, and other high-ranking administrative roles under the Tamil Nadu government.

• Out of 2.42 lakh registered candidates, 1.86 lakh appeared for the exam.

• A total of 1,843 candidates have been shortlisted for the next stage, which is the Main Written Examination.

• Note that the Preliminary Exam is a screening test only. The marks obtained here will not be counted in the final merit list.

What’s Next for Qualified Candidates?

Candidates who have cleared the prelims must:

• Pay an exam fee of INR 200 for the Main Examination

• Upload scanned documents supporting their application claims between September 3 and 12, 2025

• Prepare for the Main Written Exam, scheduled from December 1 to 4, 2025, held only at the Chennai centre

NOTE: The final selection will be based on marks obtained in Main Exam Papers II, III, IV, and the Interview, subject to reservation rules.
